Meditation happens in both the body and the mind. Yet in our quest for more mental and spiritual clarity, we often leave the body behind. This unconscious habit makes it difficult to develop a connection to deeper states of meditative awareness that are required for us to progress along the spiritual path.
In this seven day mindfulness retreat we will dive deep into modalities directed at helping you move your practice from a conceptual top-down (disembodied) approach to a non-conceptual integration of body-mind awareness. Through the calm and clear presence we will cultivate in our embodied awareness practices we will develop the ground to allow deeper facets of the spiritual journey to unfold. Evening Dharma talks will support the theme of our daily meditations and provide guidance on how to better overcome mental and emotional habits that cause unnecessary suffering.
Each meditation practice and Dharma talk will be directed to making a lasting, meaningful impact on your practice. Retreatants will be invited to sign-up for a one-to-one check-in with Scott during the retreat to help deepen individual insights and clarify challenges that may arise in the practice sessions. In support of our practice we will also be observing noble silence during the retreat.
